Residence Guarantee

First-year and transfer students are guaranteed residence for first year! Once you accept your offer to Waterloo, you can apply for our 100% residence guarantee. To guarantee your spot, all you need to do is

  • accept your Offer of Admission by 11:59 pm (ET) on June 1, 2026, and
  • submit a New Student Residence Application and $500 non-refundable deposit by 11:59 pm (ET) on June 8, 2026.

Conrad Grebel University College is an additional on-campus residence that has a separate application process.

Meal Plans

Campus Housing residences

Meal plans are required in traditional-style residences (declining balance meal plan starting at $6,720). Meal plans are optional in suite-style residences.

University College residences

All-you-care-to-eat meal plans are included in the cost of residence at Waterloo's on-campus University Colleges.

Other Information

Accessible housing

  • Students who have, or suspect they may have, a disability or condition which affects their daily living activities are encouraged to apply for accessible housing accommodations
  • Students who have daily creed-based/religious housing requests that cannot be accommodated through our amenities and dietary supports offered to all students may apply for creed-based support while living in residence.
